Dear min pin pals.... I just want to revel in happiness with other pin owners for a moment. 3 Years ago... I brought home my first.. My first rescue. My first dog. My first min pin. His name, is Charley. When I brought this tiny malnourished dog home I think I was just as scared and nervous as he was. He had crate anxiety, as well as separation anxiety. he wasnt fully house broken and he was VERY protective over his food. Months went by and I worked and worked with him. Finally coming to the conclusion that he may never get over some of his fears, and he may never be trained completely. But if I could let him live out whatever life he has left in happiness, that would be a success. Since Charley I have rescued two others. Each with their own challenges but none in the shape I got Charley. The socializing was scary for all of us. As of tonight... Charley will sit. and come when I call him. Might not be much but its a lot for char.. he stays in his own bed all night and when told to go to his kennel... he RUNS! He had leftover food in his bowl tonight, which he watched his sister eat with no fight... and, as of tonight we are accident free for almost a month... Maybe it took 3 years... but I have a happy, healthy min pin who is learning his manners. so IF anyone out there has a rescue or foster that they are discouraged with, I would love to talk to you about it. Also, Dont give up. Because once these pups realize what it is you want them to do... they will do it without hesitation. and it is seriously THE MOST rewarding thing I have ever felt..
