Dear ones in Christ, “For thus says the Lord GOD; When I shall make you a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep upon you, and great waters shall cover you” Ezekiel 26:19) Thousands of families are in tears due to sudden flood in and around Uttarakhand in India. The state is referred as the “Land of the gods” due to the many holy temples and pilgrimage centers. Other parts of India are also under flood threat due to heavy rain. Many families have been destroyed fully; some have lost their children, wife, parents and dear ones before their eyes. The story of the survived is horrible. They had to sleep among the dead. People who were slept with them found dead when they awoke, that too in the midst of thick forest. They had to forsake the dead bodies of their dear ones. They walked miles together to find a way or help through the forest amidst gross darkness, rain, cold and so on. They all lost their lives without knowing their saviour. However, some have received their life back. Moreover epidemic diseases and many calamities are awaited for the people who live in those places. The public find out the cause for such disaster as “human greed”. Triune God - Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient - created man and gave His breath, which is the life of man. It is the will of God that while on the earth man should regain the eternal life which he lost due to sin. God destroyed the world by flood during the time of Noah and only the family of Noah could be saved. God made a covenant with Noah that He will never destroy the earth by the waters of a flood and as a token He set his bow in the cloud (Genesis 9:11-13). If so why such floods now? Word of God says that the earth is now kept for fire against the Day of Judgment and perdition of ungodly men (2 Peter 3:7).
