Dear sir I am an ayurveda doctor and I was searching for a better placement. Once I saw an advertisement that there is a vacancy of R M O at HIGH LIFE AYURVEDA HOSPITAL mukkam, Calicut. I send my resume and they called me for interview. During interview the G M told me that they are going to start a wing for gynecology and I will be the charge where I can examine and give treatment to the patients who come. He offered me a sum of rupees 13000 as starting salary + food and accommodation for 3 months. After this if they are satisfied they will fix my appointment permanently with a salary of Rs. 15000 per month + food and accommodation . I agreed and signed a paper where he wrote all these things . He asked me to join within few days. And I joined. But they didn’t start women’s wing or allowed me to practice as a doctor. Not given me a room to sit till now. They did not give me the copy of the paper or an appointment letter. Many times I asked for that. But he refused. They did not give me the salary as the offered . first 3 months they gave me only 12000 and later 13000 per month. It was really a cheating . I reacted on this but they didn’t care what I said. They asked me to sit in the treatment room , to prepare case sheets. And to assist the chief physician during his treatments. This man is an illiterate when we consider AYURVEDA. they are the main consultants in this hospital. Before coming to this hospital I worked in other hospital , there also the same thing. So I thought of continuing here with suffering all sorts of mental torture to survive . I shared this matter with some of my friends who were having position in AMAI also. They asked me to wait for some time. Once I gave treatment to a patient and prepared treatment chart.. immediately the chief called the other senior ayurveda doctor and questioned them . but they supported him by silence. Then another incident G M asked me to prepare and give medical certificates to patients. I refused by saying those who are giving treatment should give the certificate. Without knowing the treatment and other things I will not give. This also provoked them. These things I shared with other doctors and asked them to keep our dignity and respect our profession. give value to our certificate of BAMS. I am a doctor and like to work as doctor not like a rubber stamp for someone,. There are two male doctors they were having M D . but not ready to support the fellow doctors whenever there is a problem. They always show sympathy and trustworthiness to the management and work as obedient servants. 3 days back one patient was admitted by the chief and the other lady doctor was insisted to assist the treatment. But she forgot to do so. The whole day the patient left out without treatment. In the evening there were problem on this matter. I was not aware of this. Simply they made fuss on me. RM O is not taking care of things. No one told me about this patient . so I am innocent in this matter. And here no one including the senior doctors will not share anything. It is the main problem. But everyone will join to hear and speak ill against others. I was busy with my duties. Mean time the wife of the owner was telling bad about me to other staff and questioned the other lady doctor regarding this issue and scolded a lot. I heard this from staff and went to that lady and told her .. if you want to say anything to me say that boldly to me . don’t speak in the back. I heard many times about this and I don’t like this nature. As far as I know no patients made any complaints about me . Yesterday morning G M called me and said the management decided to relieve you by this month end. As an employee they did not give me any warning or show cause notice till now. During interview G M told me that if you are leaving the job should inform the management before one month . I think it is applicable to the employee also according to labour law. They have not given me one month time to search for another job. They have not given me the agreed salary. I have to get that. When I heard that they are going to relieve me from job. I asked the opinion to senior male doctor and the doctor is happened to be the local secretary of our association AMAI. I ASKED HIM …. shall I make a complaint to AMAI. …. But he did not say anything .. kept quiet. But in the evening he gave information to the management as an obedient servant of them … that I am going to make complaints . and helped them to collect fake complaints about me from patients and resist me. ( During his talk I heard that they are collecting complaints about me from patients. ) I never expected this kind of illtreatment from my senior doctor who is having qualification more than me. So dear friends I humbly request your suggestion regarding this ,,… what should I do. Should I leave the job silently. Without getting the agreed money and other benefits. Dr. Soumya T Anto. BAMS
