Dear teenage boy behind the till at waitrose, the rate limiting factor in how quickly I can walk away from your till is how quickly I can pack, not how quickly you can whizz stuff past your scanner. So if you insist on treating this like some kind of extreme sport and put everything through in 20 nanoseconds yes you will have to stand there testing your extremely limited adolescent attention span while I put everything into bags.
