Dear world please vaccinate your dogs against parvo.I understand money gets tight. I understand that it is hard to keep track of vaccinations for pets but your pet could die . 3/10 do die.They internally haemorrhage to the point of death. Their intestines sometimes collapse on themselves and die off. They cannot drink or eat usually for a week. In that week they throw up and poo blood to no ends. All we can do as nurses is hope and pray we can provide adequate fluid so they dont die and try stop all the vomit,blood and poo. They are put in a room in isolation by themselves. The look in their eyes is of unforgettable the pain , the hurt and the confusion on whats going on.Sometimes as nurses when people cant afford treatment we have to euthanise them . Parvo is running rampant this season.Parvo can remain in the environment for 3 years.You cannot physically see parvo virus. It is only deactivated by high concentrations of nasty chemicals. Please share this message as the only way not to get parvo is to vaccinate. If unsure of your vaccination status please call your treating veterinary clinic.
