Dearest Abba, Father, You are an awesome God. Wondrous are your works. In my distress, I assumed that You have forgotten me. I cursed in my heart the day I was born. Several times I have said that I hated this life. Abba, I now realize how limited is my understanding about Your ways. This life that I have is Your gift. I should never be despising it. Doing so I have been despising and dishonoring You. I have uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know. I repent with a contrite and broken heart. Father, forgive me in Your great mercy. Yahweh, do not reprove me in your anger: punish me not in your rage. Have mercy on me, Yahweh, I have no strength; Abba, heal me, my body is racked; my soul is racked with pain. But you, Father, how long? Return and rescue my soul. Save me in your merciful love. Abba, I keep looking up to You for Your mercy. I cast all my cares upon You . Sustain me and don’t let me go down to the pit. Abba, You alone are my great protector. I hope and wait for Your help. Speak to me. Let Your kind and gracious living Word sustain my trembling heart. Teach me, Yahweh, the way of Your statutes and empower me with Your Holy Spirit so that I may keep Your instruction to the end. Through the grace of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen
