Dearest Devotees and all those living in cities: As many of us - TopicsExpress

Dearest Devotees and all those living in cities: As many of us trying to start farming communities based on devotional principles are coming to learn, it is VERY difficult, if not impossible for one or two persons to work a farm and have it become self-sufficient. Meanwhile, devotionally inclined people are eking out their existence in cities, still complacently sucking off the fat tit of Monsanto and other corporations that produce our food on factory farms and corporations. Our children are dying of diseases that used to only kill old people. Why? Because greed and ignorance have led to a new low in food production. We are no longer really eating food, we are eating artificially modified vegetables, grains and fruits that are laced with poisons and chemicals, not only externally, but now, internally our food has herbicides, pesticides within the food itself! Packaged food has hardly any actual food content anymore. Despite these facts, which can no longer be disputed or ignored, we continue to think everything will be ok. How is that going to happen? Using these corporate tactics, and driven by gross ignorance and greed, our eco systems, soil, water and air are now being depleted and ruined on a large scale. It is time for those who are thoughtful and also those that have read and understood Srila Prabhupadas instructions to begin forming our own Vedic Communities. A handful of sincere devotees cannot do this alone. It takes unity and the strength that comes from a group working together. Grains, dahls and vegetables are difficult to produce all by a single couple living on a farm while they also care for cows, raise children, try to earn a living etc. It takes a community; then the work is shared out and it becomes a pleasure rather than drudgery and a heavy burden. Life outside cities is far superior to living in crime-infested, filthy, polluted environments. It is a healthy life and in devotional communities it is also a pure and godly life. It is time to become thoughtful and it is time to move. You are sitting in cities allowing yourselves to be poisoned. If you care for yourselves and your children, it is time to move. ~Nandalal Dasi
