Dearest Facebook Friends, Most of you know that I go to New - TopicsExpress

Dearest Facebook Friends, Most of you know that I go to New Orleans every year to work with a group in the Lower Ninth Ward, helping to rebuild the community that was ravaged by Hurricane Katrina & Rita. It is something I was introduced to while in grad school at NJIT, by my friend Sara. The non-profit I work with Historic Green has a mission to assist and lead in the transformation and restoration of under-resourced communities through education and service, with a focus on heritage conservation and sustainable design. I have gained valuable skills, professional connections, and lasting friendships with architects, engineers, educators, and students from across the country. It continues to be one of the MOST rewarding experiences in my life and has brought me back to New Orleans every March for the past 6 years! It is where I learned how to design & install raingardens, which has benefited my home community of Jersey City and informed my work with the Jersey City Art School Garden & the Bright Street Community Garden. Check out the video by Matt Kleinmann Photography from last weeks Spring Green 2014 event. This is a teaser of the footage Matt captured and just the beginning of the work we accomplished !! PLEASE click on the link boulevard/welovekc/ (it only takes a minute & doesnt require your email or any personal info) and VOTE for Historic Green to help us continue the good work - THANKS :)
