Dearest Family and Friends, I pray this post finds each of you in the very best of health and spirit. Today I am traveling to see my Son and my Grand-Children is Washington D.C.. It will be wonderful to see them and spend the Thanksgiving Holiday with them. Unfortunately my wife was not able accompany me on this trip. Though she so much wanted too, she just couldnt get the time off. This being the case I will have to enjoy the Grand-Children for her, this I do willingly. However before I left for my trip my Wife and I had the interesting conversation. As with most families you often become deep and reflective before a long trip that involves separation. My Wife in her fashion; began to reminisce about our almost 40 years together. She recounted the good and bd times we shared. But during this wonderful walk down memory-lane she asked me the most amazing thing; she asked me Have I Enhanced Your Life these many years?. WOW! This very earnest question did two things for me; first it showed me that I have been remiss in telling my wonderful Wife how grateful I am too have her in my life. Secondly, it showed me how Ungrateful I have been in light of Gods multitude of blessings. So I decided to write this note of Gratitude and Thanksgiving while cruising at 35,000 feet. To my Wife, forgive me for not telling you more often how thankful I am to have you in my life. Your contribution to my life has been immeasurable. It was your faith in me that encourage me to try. When you met me I was sour and down on life and It was your love and faith in me that sweetened me and taught me to feel. You saw great promise in me and hung your hopes and dreams on my possibilities. You surrendered your dreams so I could create dreams of my own. You gave me two wonderful children and the opportunity to succeed where my absent father failed. You Crowned me King and appointed me Chief of our home and gave me the respect and authority that came with those titles. You have loved me deeply and you have found my imperfections acceptable. You taught me the value of friendship and family. You watched me go to war three times and stood by my side even when the battlefield changed me and nearly destroyed our home. You have been steadfast and unwavering and I love you and thank you. I thank God for my Wife, Children, Grand-Children, Family and the Most Dearest of Friends. I have been blessed far beyond measure and much more than I deserve. My Wife should never again have to inquire whether her life and her contribution to my life has value. Sinta Bells Roberts, has been my life and a blessed gift from God and without her my life would be empty. Take the time too tells those you love how you feel for them; never wait until they ask. Happy Thanksgiving.
