Dearest Family and Friends, Merry Christmas! In Chicago, the weather would suggest otherwise, but Christmas is right around the corner! It is my joy to be writing to you all at this time of year and I have enjoyed the opportunity to see many of you over the last year. It is my prayer for you all that this holiday would bring peace, joy, and love in abundance. I also encourage those of you that are in tough seasons to reach out to friends, to family, and to God. Though it may seem hidden, this is a season of the utmost hope and we all have much to be thankful for! A brief update on me…I am doing much of the same work as I have been doing for the past couple of years. I am involved in ministry at the church, here on campus, and have had the opportunity to partner with many organizations this past year. I am nearly finished up here at school and I look forward to a time of transition. On a specific note, I am writing to you all concerning missions! This Spring (March 4TH-16TH) I will, perhaps for the final time, be a part of our school’s team that will be going to Uganda, Africa. I am excited to serve with this organization for a third year and look forward to reconnecting with our community partners. We will again be partnering with Jenga Ministries and be focused on community developed in Mbale, Uganda. We will serve at the direction of this wonderful organization and look to serve the Ugandan people in a variety of ways that will come through projects Jenga is currently involved in with the local community. I look forward to serving with local Churches and will be able to serve on a very intimate and interpersonal level with the Ugandan people. I hope that you will continue to be a part of my support team. Even though Trinity students will be the ones serving directly, each student represents a group of people who are supporting our work. Being on the support team involves prayer and encouragement before, during, and after the missions trip. I look forward to what God will do in and through this team and want you to partner with me as a part of this missions team. As a member of the support team, there are many ways to help as I serve. First, the most valuable support you can offer would be your prayer. Such a trip can only happen through prayer. Second, I value your encouragement and concern. I look forward to sharing with you how God worked, some of the lessons I learned, and questions that are raised. Third, I am responsible to raise financial support for the cost of this trip. Each team member is responsible to raise $2,700 to cover airfare, housing, food, and ministry expenses. If you would like to support the team financially, please fill out the attached reply card and make all checks payable to Trinity International University (do not put my name on the check). All donations made out to Trinity are tax deductible. Send both the completed reply card and your donation in the included pre-paid envelope. I greatly appreciate your tangible demonstration of love and support in this way. Give online as well as via Facebook (Link through my page). On-line giving link: tiu.edu/givetouganda Thank you all so much for your time, love, and service. As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
