Dearly beloved, A young man was working with my father. Every - TopicsExpress

Dearly beloved, A young man was working with my father. Every day, he would dress so well for work. He had a gold chain around his neck and a gold wrist band too. Everybody said, “He is the son of a very rich gold merchant. He has properties all over the town. How gifted he is! He needn’t work at all.” A day came when his family left for their relative’s wedding in a car. When they were returning happily after the wedding, they had to cross a small river. As they were crossing the river in the car, suddenly the water level began to rise. So they shut the doors and windows of the car tightly thinking that the water would soon go down after sometime. But the force of the water got so intense that it toppled the car. Finally, the car was swept away in the flood. In a single day, darkness surrounded the young man’s life. Job lived a devoted life. He had all the prosperity in the world. He had sons and daughters; camels, donkeys and cows were in plenty. He was enjoying the signs of ‘day.’ But suddenly, overnight, the darkness of ‘night’ fell on him. He lost his wealth and his sons and daughters died in a day. At this juncture, three of his friends came to mourn with him for his misfortune. Rather than consoling him, they began to find fault with him. Finally, even his wife despised him saying, “How long are you going to suffer like this? Why are you so firm in your principles? Curse God and die" (Job 2:9). Job also had a terrible illness in his body. He was scratching himself with a potsherd all the time. In Job 30:26, we find him crying out, “When I looked for light, then came darkness.” Dearly beloved, many times, when we are surrounded by hopelessness, even we cry out this way, isn’t it? Lord Jesus took this darkness upon Him. He hung on the Cross and went through the path of darkness to shine His light in your life. Though Job lost everything in life, the Lord shined forth His light into His life and restored to him all that he had lost when he cried out to Him in his distress. The Bible says, “For he has not despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help” (Psalm 22:24). When you call upon God for help placing your trust in His goodness, He will surely help you. He will neither reject your prayer nor withhold His love from You. He will not hide His face from You. He will hear your fervent cries and look at your sorrowful tears and respond to them. He will deliver you from darkness and surround you with His divine light. Prayer: Loving Lord Jesus, You have been my Helper. In my distress, I call to You. Turn your ear to me and answer me quickly for I am in trouble. Hear my fervent cries and see my tears. Do not reject my prayer or withhold your love from me. Deliver me from darkness and surround me with your divine light. In Your matchless name I pray. Amen.
