Death The death took place recently of Mr Chris Halligan, Woodstown a native of Waterford City, he was 88. Deceased came to live in Woodstown 25 years ago and had spent many years in Englan..He was an accomplished footballer and played soccer in the English League many years ago and had also spent some time living in Spain. His remains were removed on Monday May 19th to Carbally Church. His requiem mass took place on Tuesday May 20 th at 11:30 am and his burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Sympathy is extended to his relatives. May Procession This evening Wednesday May 28 th the May Procession for the entire Parish of Crooke,.Killea and Faithlegg will be held around Crooke starting at.7.30 pm. All parishioners are invited to participate and First Communion and Confirmation children, choirs, scouts etc.very welcome. Confirmation. The following children from this side of of the Parish were confirmed in Killea Church on Tuesday May 20 th by Bishop William Lee. Passage National School; Grace Kervick, Jade Kelly, Sophie Meade, Caoimhe Murphy, Agatka Cylwich, Kieran Ryan, Ciáran ONeill, Cillian Lynch, Cormac Walsh and Daniel Mason. Faithlegg National School Molly Boyle, Alex Doherty, Ciara Hartery, Alisha Heffernan and John Wadding. Lios na n Og Playschool Above are now taking enrolments for next September for 2 1/2 year olds and upwards, call into school for full details Woodstown Dates Two dates for events in Woodstown are as follows Alan Everett Road Race on Friday July 18th at 7 pm and August Fair Sunday August 28 th. Any groups in the Parish intended holding events and to avoid clashing with another one in the area the same day should have them out in the Public Arena well in advance of the dates.and not a week or two before. Hurling The juniors game v Clonea did not go ahead on Friday last they are due to meet Mount Sion in Crooke this Friday at 7 pm. This is a sport that games can be cancelled at any time up to 24 hrs before a game or even on the day so check locally, at time if writing it was Friday. Passage were well represented in Thurles on Sunday last v Cork with five on the Waterford Intermediate team,one on the senior and two on the primary game team. These were Intermediate; Killian Fitzgerald, Mark Wyse, Jason Roche, Pa Walsh and Thomas Connors. Senior Noel Connors, Primary Game Cormac Walsh and Mikie Cummins.
