The court has granted conditional bail to Mr Mondal on a bond of Rs 1200. He has to present himself for three days in the Siliguri police station in a week and the bail will be cancelled if he is found hindering government work again,” assistant public prosecutor of the court Dinanath Mohanto said. The court had remanded him in judicial custody yesterday. The Siliguri police station inspector-in-charge (IC), Bikas Kanti Dey, and the investigating officer (IO) of the case, also appeared in the court today. Mr Deb, meanwhile, said the rainbow alliance’ of the Congress, CPI-M and the BJP were fuelling the issue. A few anti socials are trying to hinder development work for their vested interests here. The rainbow alliance of the Congress, CPI-M and BJP is also involved. We will take to the streets with the people, and on 11 October we will organise a grand rally at ward 5. At the same time we will launch door to door campaigns over the issue and isolate those anti-socials, Mr Deb said. The Trinamul Congress will also lead a deputation to the police on 12 October, demanding proper investigations into some murders, which were committed in Siliguri during the tenure of the Left Front government. sns
