Debate I find it particularly galling that Russia is protesting Ukrainian actions in its Eastern Provinces of Donetsk and Lughansk. I say this because in both Chechen wars, in which Russia put down rebellions in the province of Chechnya. In doing so their actions led to the deaths of almost 200,000 people in terms of combined civilian-military deaths in both conflicts. So my question is... Why is it okay for Russia to use force to put down armed rebellions/insurgencies but its not okay for their former Soviet neighbor Ukraine to do the same in order to preserve its territorial integrity which Russia has already violated in its highly illegal annexation of Ukraines Crimean peninsula?
