Dec 6, 2014 - It’s changing again. In fact, we’re not sure what to believe anymore. President Obama’s foreign policy strategy continues to change right in front of our eyes. For years, his entire plan was essentially to do the exact opposite of everything George W Bush did before him. Take the troops out of Iraq, remove the American military presence from Afghanistan. Shut down Guantanamo Bay and release all of the tortured prisoners. All of those were items on the very top of Obama’s agenda, and none of them are accomplished. Now, even after Obama slashed the military budget dangerously low, we have troops in Iraq AND Syria, we STILL have thousands of US soldiers in Afghanistan, not to mention thousands of soldiers in West Africa fighting Ebola, and in dozens of other countries, staging war games and training other militaries. But even after all of those promises, President Obama is about to send even more troops over to Afghanistan. And this is a trying time for that country. Taliban insurgents are acting at will, carrying out deadly attacks on security checkpoints and government buildings. Secretary of State John Kerry claims a big victory in that country, after a recent change of power in the election. But even that was a struggle for control. And now that it’s over, the country is on the brink of outright disaster. In fact, the reason the Pentagon says they need to send thousand of new troops, is because other NATO countries refuse to send their soldiers into danger. So once again, when other countries say they can’t afford to spend human capital or tax dollars on military affairs outside their country, the American president offers to make up the difference, without any vote of approval from Congress. https://youtube/watch?v=kif3JTCNh0s
