December 1st 2010,my fellow citizens (Ayakoromites), their way of life, their very peace came under attack in a series of deliberate and deadly military act. The victims were in their various houses or in their offices, business areas; moms and dads, family, friends and neighbors. Very important persons lives were suddenly ended by evil, despicable acts of men. The pictures of airplanes flying into buildings, fires burning, huge structures collapsing, have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness, and a quiet, unyielding anger. These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our community into chaos and retreat. But they have failed; my community (Ayakoromo) is strong. The military attacks can shake the foundations of the biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of my great community (Ayakoromo) These acts shattered steel, but they cannot dent the steel of Ayakomites. Ayakoromo was targeted for attack because were the brightest beacon for peace, unity and opportunity in the region and no one can stop that light from shining. Today, my great community (Ayakoromo) saw evil, the very worst of human nature. I use this opportunity to thank those who came to rescue the victims, who came to give blood, food, and help in anyway or other. Today I remember great and wonderful Ayakoromites that lost their lives in the deadly attact; My lovely uncle who is like a mentor and father to me (Uncle Kalama Bonaventure), A great teacher, educationist, Motivator and father to the fatherless (Pa. Yeigaha Snr.), A servant of God (Apostle Egbe Tolo), Kitua Onisha, Pastor Timise and others. I pray that Almighty and eternal God, from whose love in Christ we cannot be parted, either by death or life hear our prayers and thanksgivings for all whom Ayakoromites remember this day; fulfil in them the purpose of your love and bring us all, with them, to your eternal joy through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Ayakoromites will continue to remember you all....... Rest in Peace................................ Engr. Asypeters Jr. (Salaco Jr. )
