December 8, 1980…A timeless anthem for the people wanting more - TopicsExpress

December 8, 1980…A timeless anthem for the people wanting more than just hope rings out against the unjust, and the unexplainable. John Lennon, we are still crying out… “Gimme Some Truth” When John Lennon found home in New York City in the early 70s, a crooked president was launching one bright spot of a presidency gone rogue. Forty-two years ago, President Richard Nixon signed the National Cancer Act and vowed to make curing cancer a national crusade. The same kind of concentrated effort that split the atom and took man to the moon should be turned toward conquering this dread disease, said Nixon in 1971. Since then, in this country alone, the United States government has spent over $100 billion on cancer research. And yet, Warriors are still dying while receiving the latest “hopeful trials,” current medical treatment, all while at the most recognized facilities & hospitals in the world. Currently there are thousands & thousands of brilliant Scientist in this world. Cancer research has kept “hope on the horizon” for over four decades now. The money has been there. The facilities are there. New research facilities are being built. The dedication is there. So what gives? Between last year’s tour, and this year’s tour was a calculated targeted effort to attain truth beyond the media, and beyond the billboards. I have met with many Doctors all around and across this country, and I have documented many of these one on one conversations. Now…Warriors, & Caregivers…I want you to know, this Foundation, this movement represents the reflection of the Warrior’s iron will, the positive power of unity of your community through inspiring efforts. The frustration you have from lack of 100% definite answers, and emotional exhaustion of being told “we hope this will target…” My frustration is beyond explainable simply in a social media post, but a heavy responsibility of what to do with the transparent information we have attained in 13,000+ miles of representing the families to go to the front lines of mixed truths. It’s ironic that on this day next week, Mary, myself & dozens of other guests will be running from the Freedom Tower to Times Square for the final portion of this 10,000 mile journey. Ironic, because today we remember John Lennon. Today we remember the stir he created in a rogue presidency promoting false hopes, only to see the President resign because the power of people were crying… “Just Gimme Some Truth.” And, we still are… Many of you have heard me talk about the difference of reading a billboard at a driving pace, and literally running on the side of the road across or around this country. The billboard sales you. Because you don’t have time to look further, and deeper. But running at 5mph on the side of the road in 45 states, 4 time zones, every major mountain range in the USA, all while absorbing every gradual change in the cultures with open pores awaiting to absorb who we really are, and what the system is selling us… Truths beyond the media, billboards, and packaging of false hopes have been discovered. Now the responsibility of what to do with these truths is something we will respectfully lean on all of you to make the best decision with the transparent information at hand. Healing: What IS, compared to what has been on the horizon for decades. What we have discovered after going to these front lines, THERE IS A BETTER WAY. Today is filled with excitement, liberation, and extreme clarity from an extremely emotionally bruising journey. Not just from managing runner emotions, or the intense logistics of a constant moving target, or not feeling a sense of home for 8 months, or from the physical & physiological endurance challenge of a journey of 10,000 miles…No, today we continue to reflect each of YOU. Warriors, caregivers, and our entire M2G family. We acknowledge the proven antidote that we have seen inside thousands of Warrior & widow homes… “The antidote is the attitude” Chapter 3 of Miles 2 Give is the evolution of wearing the shoes that have brought us 13,000+ miles to transparencies, false hopes, and red tape of simplicities. Until then, we have one week to go. We have one more week to honor each of your courageous families. Another week of elevating awareness of an elevated cancer rate growing each year. Another week of raising awareness of early detection, and seeking thorough examinations of prolonged discomfort. Out of the 520+ Warriors we have honored in the two years of running across and around this country, over half are no longer here. What are the key words we read the most with each story of each daily honoree? -Misdiagnosis -Complained of discomfort for 6-9 months -Doctor’s didn’t know what to do Today, if you have your health, give it a chance to sustain another blessed day by giving peace a chance. Peace in your mind. Peace in your heart. Peace in your internal environment. Peace in your voice. Peace in your decision making. Peace for your physical recovery. Stress is not worth it, in any form. “Give Peace A Chance.” 7 day till NYC. Thank you John Lennon. I have imagined many possibilities in my wild and free mind. None greater than running across or around a country in the pursuit to give & inspire in the effort of inspiring sarcoma Warriors. But, I would have never thought that a part of you would live on in many of us. Including me. Till your so…crazy, you can’t follow their rules.” Go get your deserved truth. Don’t settle for what is on the horizon. Understand what can heal you and your family now. “Imagine” 7 days… Landon, Mary & M2G Team #WERUNFORWARRIORSTEVE
