Decided to do traditional home schooling with John for his 8th grade LA and History the rest of this year. After looking at the proposed reading lists for LA I have come to one conclusion: theyre trying to make our kids into homicidal sociopaths. My god, the depressing crap these kids have to read!!! War war war, murder and mayhem and sinking ships and taking peoples land and more murder. egads. Well be looking at more positive books for alternatives for the reading curriculum. Well still learn the stuff but the horrific novels? No way. Theres really no reason in the world to inundate a kid with that much negativity.
