The verdict issue by Lausanne-based CSA may have impact on other MHA cases pending in the NADA involving national athletes... • INDERJIT SING GILL: Indias senior womens hockey team coach Inderjit Sing Gill has passed away in a fatal road accident. He was 59. He was a sports Authority of India (SAI) coach. Gill started his coaching carrier in 1986 and was working with the junior and senior women hockey team since 1999. Gill was also part of the coaching staff of the senior womens team that won the silver medal at the recently concluded third women’s Asian championship Trophy in Japan. { BADMINTON} •MACAU OPEN GRAND PRIX GOLD ( Badminton tournament)! Indias PV Sindhu has lifted the womens singles trophy at the Macau open Grand Prix Gold Badminton tournament. Malaysia secured the third position in the tournament while India finished fifth. Womens: The Indian Women Hockey team won the Silver Medal, losing 0-1 to the hosts Japan in the final of the 3rd Women Asian Champions Trophy played at Kakamigahara in Japan. Indian goalkeeper Rajni Etimarpu was adjudged Best goalkeeper of the tournament. Japan won the gold, while Malaysia bagged the bronze medal. Malaysia defeated China 3-1 in the bronze-medal play-off match. { SHOOTING } ( HEENA SIDHU) ! Indias Heena Sidhu has created history by becoming the first Indian pistol shooter to win a Gold at the World Cup Final. In the Womens 10-metre Air Pistol event at the ISSF World Cup final in Munich, the 24-year-old shooter got the better of World Champion Zorana Arunovic of Serbia to bag her first Gold at the world level. { TENNIS } (DEVIS CUP 2013)! Czech Republic retained the Davis Cup by defeating Serbia 3-2 in the final played at Belgrade. Stepanek became just the third player in history to win two Davis Cup Final live fifth singles rubbers, and the first man ever to do so on consecutive occasions, after bypassing Serbian youngster Dusan Lajovic for the loss of just five games. Davis cup is the largest annual international team competition in sport with 536 players from 125 nations talking part in 2013 in the ITFs centenary year.
