Deductions Checklist - Clothing, Uniforms and Footwear: • Protective The clothing must be used to protect e i t h e r the person or their conventional clothing. • Occupation specific The clothing identifi es a particular trade, vocation or profession. • Compulsory uniform The uniform must be unique and particular to an organisation. • Non-compulsory uniform The uniform design must be in a register kept by the secretary to the Dept of Industry, Science & Technology. • Laundry Only allowed if the cost of the clothing is also deductible. Reasonable claims of up to $150 do not need to be substantiated. • Dry-cleaning Only allowed if the cost of the clothing is also deductible.
