State repression against effective activists is to be expected, but the level of cruelty and the obvious white supremacy towards People of Color in Ferguson is indicative of systemic racism as well as fascism. Photo One: Here is a photo of Veterans For Peace member Russell Johnson being arrested at St Louis City Hall on Wednesday. He is a Navy vet with full disability. When police gave the order to disperse he turned and started walking away. He is on blood thinner and had no intention of risking physical confrontation. Police moved past several white people to grab him from behind, knock him down, cuff him and drag him away. The process gave him a dislocated shoulder and docs at VA say he is likely to need surgery.
