Deep breath...okay here I go... If you look at your radar on your phone/computer/tablet you will see red/orange storms on the northern border of Missouri. They are reporting quarter to ping-pong ball size hail in most of the cells and 70 mph winds. If these storms stay isolated they could produce Derechos (strong cold air bursts that hit the ground and spread high winds in different directions, ie. a water balloon hitting a hard surface) NOW if these storms gang up and for Bow-Echos they will be pretty strong as well...and will make a swift pass through of our area...this is how most of our storms are in Illinois and then move on into Indiana. The upside of these storms is that the temps are not looking like they are to drop that much and the chance of Tornadoes is lessened, not out-ruled but lessen. There is lots of lightning, hail and heavy rain supported by these storms...please keep your Weather Radios near you for any severe alerts. These storms look to reach us near midnight possibly. If we are lucky the worst will pass to the south of our area. I might update one more time tonight if I see/hear of any new conditions.
