Deer season opens in our part of Ontario on Monday November 3rd and ends on Sunday November 16th. The main section of the Pinery south of Monck Rd. 45 is in Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) 60. Expect to see some gates left open and hunters pickups along the VRTC. The roads to their camps are off-limits. We ask that you stay out of the Somerville Forest Tract, including the Pinery and Millenium Trails for your own safety and to respect the hunters. We also ask that you stay out of the 5 Points completely from Monday November 3rd to Sunday November 16th. A number of the landowners who allow us to use their land for snowmobile, ATV and OF4WD trails will be in there for the deer hunt. For many, the only reason they own the land is for hunting and its the only time they use it, so please show them the respect they deserve.
