Defence Minister Edgar Lungu says is still patriotic front secretary general and has only temporarily stepped aside until the ruling party picked its presidential candidate. Mr. Lungu said he had not resigned his position and remained PF Secretary General until such a time that a substantive candidate had been named to contest the 20th January, 2015 presidential by-election. He said in a statement obtained by Sun FM that in his absence, his Deputy, Bridget Attanga would act as party Secretary General. Notable among the PF presidential hopefuls are former first lady dr. Christine kaseba; Lusaka Mayor, Mulenga Sata; Sports Minister, Chishimba Kambwili; Kabwata member of parliament, given Lubinda and his Kasama central counterpart, Geoffrey Mwamba. Others are Matero Member of Parliament, Miles Sampa, Commerce Minister Bob Sichinga and Mr. Lungu.
