Delhi Haat Janakpuri to open for public on 29th May 2014, This shall be the biggest of all Dilli Haat’s built by DTTDC. The long wait of people of West Delhiites ended as the most loved West-Delhi tourist landmark is ready to open on 29th May 2014 at Janakpuri by DTTDC, in the mid of the summer vacations without any formal inauguration ceremony. This Dilli Haat is built on 8 acres of land. Having inbuilt parking for more than 500 cars & 250 two wheeler. This shall have more than 100 typical craft shops, 74 open Platform shops, 46 Air Conditioned Shops, 28 Food Stalls at dedicated food court, an open theatre with a capacity of more than 800 people is ready and many other facilities are in pipeline. This project is built with a cost of Rs 81.44 Crores. There is a wave of enthusiasm among youngsters who are crazy to visit this landmark Dilli Haat. The working on this project was initiated by Shri Sanjey Puri when he was councillor of Janakpuri in year 2002. The main attraction of this Haat shall be that it shall be serving different type of foods from various states. For the promotional point of view the entry to this Haat shall be just Rs 10 for the public, and Rs 10 & Rs 20 shall be parking fee for the two wheelers & cars respectively. Shri Sanjey Puri elaborated that, “This Haat shall be disable friendly along with being environment friendly as even during construction process no tree is cut but each and every tree is adjusted in the drawings which are planned by the architects.” There is an exhibition hall which is almost ready which is in 960 sq m of area, another air conditioned auditorium is also provisioned with a capacity of 800 seats, and an open restaurant cum banqueting area is also built for the visiting people.
