Customer interaction Oversee food preparation Calculate and manage food costs and wastage Oversee kitchen maintenance Stock take and ordering Draft menus for functions and catering events Develop new dishes and menu ideas Staff discipline and training Position Reports to: Owner Skills/Requirements: Which qualifications will secure this position? • Recognized Culinary Qualification • Drivers license – Code 10 license will be an advantage What type of experience do we require? • Minimum of 5 years experience as a chef • Minimum f 2 years experience in a similar position, within a Deli environment • 2 year of kitchen management experience What skills / behaviours are required? • Understanding of the latest food concepts, unique taste and flavor • Manage systems • Creative and have a flair for presentation • Training staff • Hard working, passionate, dedicated and committed • Assertiveness, patience and good organizational skills • Understanding of kitchen procedure and timing requirements and be able to plan accordingly • Good communication skills Please ensure that you provide the following information with your application: - Photograph – Head and shoulders picture, in low resolution format for our database - Start and End dates for all previous employment - Written references that you have available - Current contact telephone numbers and email addresses for all previous employers, for referencing purposes.
