Delta Amends Select Domestic and International Baggage Policies (July 1, 2013) - Delta Air Lines is amending select baggage fees and policies effective for tickets issued on or after July 1, 2013 for travel on or after July 1, 2013. Details of the changes are outlined below. Effective July 01, 2013, Delta will revise its free baggage allowance for Economy Class travel between North and South America (except Brazil) and Southern Africa1 from one (1) free piece to two (2) free pieces. These changes apply only to Delta-marketed flights. In addition, effective July 01, 2013, Delta will increase its overweight baggage fee from $90 (USD/CAD) to $100 (USD/CAD) and its oversize fee from $175 (USD/CAD) to $200 (USD/CAD) for all travel wholly within the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
