Democracy, the means by which the majority shall have their way is - TopicsExpress

Democracy, the means by which the majority shall have their way is not at all an adequate process in a multi ethnic nation unless it is accompanied by quite great amount of Devolution. Full Devolution as a form of decentralization of executive, legislative and judicial authority to in our case in Kenya, county governments and Not Resource Devolution or Sharing that we now have, is what we must demand. These would have been the most consequential change in our new constitutional dispensation, However, this process was fought and diluted by those that have benefited from the greed of power in a centralized all powerful system. If the Kenyans sleep one more night, the tyranny of the holders of power will once again continue to gain the upper hand in crippling devolution and thereby decentralization effectively taking down the only distributive factor in the quest for equal distribution of Power and Resources. In Kenya, power has remained in very few hands and as things are, it appears that power will tend to remain and be concentrated in a few privileged individuals whose survival and privileges depend on more concentrated power and wealth We the Kenyan people particularly the people of the great Rift Valley will be to blame should the holders of power again strangle and succeed to kill Devolution and the ultimately Full Decentralization.
