Democrats discuss recent developments in the Middle East At 7 pm February 26 at the Central Lincoln PUD, Lincoln County Democrats will host Gilbert Schramm speaking on The Nuclear Equation: The Current Conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran The Iranian nuclear program and current conditions in Palestine and Syria will also be discussed. His analysis of what is happening is different from what we hear in the news and is based on over 10 years of living and teaching in the Middle East. Gilbert studied Middle Eastern History and US Foreign Policy at OSU. He has a Masters Degree in Linguistics and Intercultural Communications. He was a Peace Corp volunteer in Yemen and Bulgaria, and has lived and taught in Pakistan, Qatar, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia. He most recently lived in Saudi Arabia and was there during The Arab Spring. Coffee and a light snack will be provided. Central Lincoln PUD is located at 2129 North Coast Highway, Newport (across US 101 from Safeway.) Democrats are welcomed who want to make a difference by becoming Precinct Committee Persons (PCPs). Applications for that office will be available at the meeting. The importance PCPs in making policy decisions, communicating with elected officials, and local campaigning will be discussed.
