Dengue Fever: 80% mild symptom,5% life threatenig.INCUBATION PERIOD 3-14 days.VECTOR-Aedes aegypti.CLINICAL STAGE-> 1st(febrile) 1-3days high grade fever,viremia,dehydration. 2nd stage(critical) stage 3-6days shock manifestation,organ failure,haemarrhage.3rd(recovery) stage 6-10 days reabsorption of fluid,fluid overload,tachycardia,IgG & IgM +ve.DIAGNOSIS worsening sign-worsening abdominal pain,ongoing vomiting,liver enlargement,mucosal bleeding,high haematocrit,low platelet,lethargy & restlessnes & serosal effusion. CLINICAL DIAGNOSIS IN ENDEMIC AREA-Fever with 2 of the following nausea & vomiting,rashesh,generalised pain,low WBC,or +ve tourniquet test or any warnig sign. TOURNIQUET TEST-Application of BP cuff at between systolic & dyastolic blood pressure for 5 minute following by counting of petichial haemrrhage,if it is >10-20/2.5 cm,it means test is +ve.Is used on p place of platlet where platlet test facility is not available. Treatment-Symptomatic.
