Denise Modra "I want you all to think on something very hard before you reply; In retaliation for the Shutdown, the White House has decided to cut off access to Memorials, Parks, Nature Centers, and various Historical Sites, EVEN if they are privately owned and operated, the White House says “they are on Federal land” (since when did they pull a land seizure?) and therefore subject to closure. If they cannot actually close the area, they have now closed the Federal roads TO the area. Denying access for all, even to look upon it, like it was the elite’s personal property, and not that of the people of this country. They have closed access to the ocean in some areas, denying access to it. Now here comes the thinking part: If your Govt believes it can control your access to Nature, it will control your access to things it has passed off to you as "rights". Do you want to see govt controlled by someone who is a true megalomaniac? Well here it is, complete with “I’m only following orders” brownshirts that follow orders to harass 90 year old WW II vets and treat them no better than as potential target practice (and what makes you young people think you won’t be next?) Except he does have the power he is deluded with – and, failure to curb such power now WILL WITHOUT A DOUBT RESULT in a dictatorship in this country. In my class debates, when a liberal bristles that the current actions are like that of Hitler, they go nuts, but they fail every time to counter with any sort of factual evidence as to why this would NOT be a repeat of history (and lose to the old man) – but somehow they think they can beat history – well, got news for them: you can’t beat history, it beats YOU if you fail to learn. So far, we’re failing en masse; a new Hitler is testing his resolve against ours - where do you stand, America?"
