Dennis; I use to own three small stores and when we applied to accept food stamps I had to go to a class to learn what we could do and what we could not do. The Matter of kids buying chips and candy came up. The Gov. told us...”The important thing was that the kids get "SOMETHING TO EAT." They said by the kids using food stamps for a treat it often frees up some of the parents money to be used for more good food. They went on and on and it all made sense. Lisa; those who get food stamps are not allowed to buy a pre cooked chicken from a super market because it is prepared food. However they are allowed to buy a Sub or grinders whatever you call them. Many homeless and almost homeless like those without lights are not able to cook there own food. They have to eat cold. I could go on and on. Christine; Many people on food stamps were not gifted by God to reason as you can. Yes you are right for people like you. But you are judging people as you would judge yourself. These people are different than you and other intelligent people like yourself. You and I (the Gov.) can not afford to hire people to go with them everyday to watch over their needs. Nor should we, People need to pay attention to their own lives and get there noses out of the business of those less fortunate than ourselves. Does any body here think these people would not like to have a job that would let them live with dignity. Do you not think they would like to hold their heads high while driving a car or living in a nice house and dressing their kids well? Of course they would, but they have given up. This Country use to have a place for people like them. There was Factories and Mills and other places people could get work even if they had no skills. Today those jobs no longer exist.
