Denomination =s Division. Part # 3 Hebrews 6:1-3. therefore leaving behind the principles of the doctrines of Christ, , let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the FOUNDATION of : 1. Repentance from dead works 2. Faith Toward God 3. Doctrine of Baptisims. (Plural) 4. Laying on of Hands 5. Ressurection of the Dead 6. Eternal Judgment Notice the writer says we are to leave behind the principles of the doctrine of Christ. And go on to perfection or (Maturity) Ask yourself, have you ever been taught this concerning what to believe.? Because this ought to be what All believers should know !!!! However, I can say I wasnt taught this when I got born again. Yet there it is just as plain as the nose on my face. So what was I taught ? One of the first things I was taught is that the Baptists were all going to hell. Then I was taught about my denomination .!!! Why we were the predominant race of people to serve God. We held all the truth because we spoke in tongues and we were the most dedicated to winning souls ! Oh and the most obedient in serving God. And so the underlying tone to my new heart in the Lord became the protection of my denomination ! It must be protected and its valadation was in, as sad as it is saving of a soul. And I became that calling card if you will, to the surrounding fellowships in town. The golden boy. You can only imagine how this appealed to my pride. So I got on my horse just like the Apostle Paul, and would ride out every morning looking to kill so called Christians like Baptists, Church of Christ,Catholics presbertyrian, and oh the ,penetecostal, because even though we believed pretty much the same thing, we were much more dignified than those out of control brothers and sisters. . and here it is ,my weapon of choice was myDENOMINATION . Yep ! I had been Numbered & Divided and as subtle as it was, I began to seek converts over to my Demomination !!!!!! After all we needed numbers, and I could divide a house as good as any new convert that had tons of zeal and no wisdom. If it seems like Im bitter or upset Im not. Just last week, at my wifes uncles funeral , the new pastor in town introduced himself, and while shaking my hand ask if I belonged to a fellowship.? Of which I replied no, and that there were a few of us considering starting a bible study. And I had also been praying about where my wife and I should go to assemble with other believers . Oh ? Excitededly he invited me , sure !!! I responded , where ? (now Ive been gone from town since 1977) he told me. It was the very fellowship Ive spoken about in this very post. I liked the Pastor immediately and my former fellowship that wasnt a problem either. And then as Numbered & divided as they come, he tried to look me in the eye but had to look away in shame when he said if you come theres only, (and he gave me a NUMBER ) as if I needed to prepare myself. My heart broke for him. The weight of his denomination caused him to bow his head in shame because he didnt have a NUMBER of people he could feel like a Son of God could feel good about. Again, Im not bashing your denomination , but church you can see how that we have so much division in the body of Christ ! The Greatest Pastor known to man only had 12 members in 3 years in his fellowship and we know him to be Jesus !!! James 4:1 from whence come wars and fighrings among you ? Come they not from your lusts that war in you members ( church body) we ask and dont receive , because we ask wrongly , that we may consume it for our own glory or lusts paraphrased. Have you ever felt like nothing more than a number ? Ever lost your vision to DI-Vision ? Its simple to see now. In the book of John Jesus said when He the Holy Spirit comes he will show you as well as lead you into all truth !!! Ill close this post for now. I dont want this to make you despondent or weaken you. Its going to be a great study so please follow along and lets bind the spirit of division in our fellowships. When we do we can get in one mind and one accord.
