Dental Tourism - We were recently admonished and called unprofessional by a Facebook user (lets call her Ms. Jones) for posting two photos of "dentistry" performed overseas (We mentioned Thailand and elsewhere - which meant it could be anywhere in the World, although this FB user mistakenly assumed we were talking of Thailand). Well, here is the official word from the professional body of dentists - The ADAVB - in Victoria. adavb.blogspot.au/2013/04/fact-sheet-on-dental-tourism.html We standby what we said. The onus is on the patient if you travel overseas for dental treatment. We are not saying all overseas dentists are below standard, in fact, there are a lot of excellent practitioners overseas. We just want our patients to know the potential shortfall of dental tourism.
