Denva – Lovely Warmblood Gelding (rising 2yr at Christmas) “I’m looking for the right Mum or Dad to make me part of the family” A special new owner needed for my beloved Denva. He has been taught to lead, back up, pick up his feet and has been brushed. He has had his feet trimmed regularly and also been regularly drenched. He has been trucked once. He was gelded around 10 months old and had his vaccinations including equine herpes then too. He has not been tied up yet – I havn’t wanted to risk a pull back. He is polite and slightly reserved in nature so far, but I believe he is going to be the most amazing , loyal horse for the right person with the right quality time put into him. He is a stunning mover and is of great breeding. He currently stands around 14.3HH and I guess he will grow to around 16HH or there abouts? His Mum is a Dun Gisborne bred girl called Bonnie, whom was a good all-rounder, lovely temperament and made the best mother to Denva. She was around 16 HH. His Dad was the late ‘Golden Boy’. A retired top eventer owned by Jody Hartstone of Raglan. He was apparently full of character in his day. I had the privilege of meeting him and felt like he was a safe, wise soul and very forgiving. He was 15.3 HH. Denva is currently run in a herd of 4 with an old Grandad ‘Womble’ who is teaching him his place in the world as he plays with the other 2 young ones, working out their pecking order. I have given him the best start to life I could. I have tried to give him good, sound experiences with consistency, and I employed the best professionals I could to help me along the way. I would like these standards to be carried on and that is why I will only let him go to the absolute right home. This is the type of home I am looking for for him: *He must not be kept alone. * Would like his grazing to be in as natural environment as possible. *I would like him to remain uncovered unless it’s a storm and he doesn’t have shelter. Ample hay should be enough to keep a horse warm at all other times. Overheating a horse is far worse and detrimental to their health, not to mention it is cruel, as they can not regulate their own temperature properly when covered. I would love him to be a liberty horse / freedom riding horse /hacking / trekking / farm work. Ideally the new owner will be into bitless riding and bareback riding, and keep him barefoot. The new owner will be an in-tune person, always with the horse’s best interest at heart :-) Selling for personal reasons that require me to unfortunately give up my horse. :-( No competition homes sorry. $2800, but negotiable for the right home. He is currently a bit bigger than the herd photo which was taken about 6 months ago. I have lots more photos of his younger months if anyone wants them. Denva lives in Raglan Please phone Zenya Hansen - 07 863 1357 or email: zeniorita@hotmail
