About the Position: ACE-IT (Army Corps of Engineers - Information Technology) is the provider of Information Management/Information Technology (IM/IT) support for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). The ACE-IT mission is to provide enterprise-wide IM/IT products and services for all information management functional areas to include Automation, Communication, Information Assurance, Records Management, Printing & Publications, and Visual Information. These services include local support activities, as well as enterprise services such as centralized Automated Information Systems (AIS) hosting, long-haul communications, e-mail support, service desk, and information assurance services. TRAVEL REQUIRED · Occasional Travel · 20% or less travel required RELOCATION AUTHORIZED · No KEY REQUIREMENTS · Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance · Moving expenses(PCS) are not authorized and will not be paid · This position requires a valid drivers license DUTIES: As a Mail Clerk you will be responsible for accomplishing mail room and distribution center duties servicing ACE-IT. You will perform mail and clerical duties related to the processing of incoming and outgoing materials such as correspondence, publications and classifications. You will pick up mail (i.e., correspondence, publications, classifications, etc) from the United States Postal Service (USPS) designated distribution location. You will open, perforate, date stamp and read as necessary to determine routing by subject matter, some of which is closely related. You will distribute mail to individually marked boxes in the distribution center. You will maintain and replenish the inventory of postage office supplies. Listed are some of the duties you will perform in this position but are not limited to: · Run mail through the sealing, metering and cancelling machines for accuracy. · Bundle and bag mail according to US Postal Service regulations. · Use the mail meter to weigh parcels and mail to determine the correct postage. Provide data information to Records Manager for the semi-annual Positive Accountability Postage Administration System (PAPUS)cost reports. · Monitor and receive large volume of official mail involving a variety of items and stressing the importance of the cost control program QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.
