Deputies from the Ulster County Sheriffs Office report the arrest of Mel Farrisi, 52 years old, of 10 Rabbaila Ln Hopewell Junction NY. Mr. Farrisi was charged with two counts of the Misdemeanor of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and with the violation of Possessing a Controlled Substance in a Non-original Container. On July 18th, 2014 at approximately 10:00PM Deputies located Mr. Farrisi attempting to hitchhike on the shoulder of Route 299, in the Town of Lloyd. Subsequent interview and investigation revealed that Mr. Farrisi was in possession of drug paraphernalia containing heroin residue as well as a quantity of Xanax, which was not in its original prescription container. Mr. Farrisi was taken into custody and was transported to the Law Enforcement Center for processing. He was later released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Lloyd Town Court on August 14, 2014 at 4PM.
