Deputies were called out to Gold Hill for a report of a dog left in a hot car. When the deputies arrived, a nearby business owner claimed the dog was left inside the car for more than an hour while two people went into the bar. The owner of the business got the dog out of the car and had took it into his business and gave it water and waited for law enforcement. When the two people came out of the bar, the business owner determined they appeared to be drunk, the men got into the car and drove off, hitting a parked vehicle. Deputies initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, and arrested Arthur Palmer, 49, for DUII. He provided a .21% BAC and was lodged at the Jackson County Jail for DUII and Reckless Driving. Deputies arrested Reyes Flores, 40, for Assault and Harassment. He was lodged at the Jackson County Jail. Bail was set at $28,000. Tyler Baker, 21 was arrested on a couple Assault charges, Harassment, and Disorderly Conduct after he hit a man with a metal pipe. Baker was transported to the Jackson County Jail. Deputies broke up a large house party over the weekend at 150 Butler Creek Road, in Ashland. A juvenile threw a party while her parents were out of town. The call came in as a noise complainant. When deputies arrived on scene many of the juveniles took off. Several parents were called as asked to come pick up their children. Several children were found to be playing on construction equipment in a new construction zone. The children were asked to get down and stay off property. There are many areas throughout the county where there is building and road construction, please make sure you keep children off the equipment. And finally, water levels at several area lakes including, Howard, Willow, Hyatt, and Emigrant are getting low. Please avoid these areas, or use at your own risk. There have been SEVERAL reports of boats getting stuck due to the shallow water.
