Deputy CM assures to resolve problems of Quraish community Hyderabad : A delegation of the Jamiatul Quraish Welfare Association, Secunderabad, met Deputy Chief Minister Janab Mahmood Ali on Tuesday seeking his intervention to resolve the problems being faced by the Quraish community. Led by its President Mohammad Khasim Khan, the Association in its representation told Mahmood Ali that the all members of Quraish community were strictly following the ban on slaughter of cows. However, the community is being wrongly accused of indulging in cow slaughter. It is allegedly being harassed by the right-wing activists who often indulge in physical attacks. Khasim Khan said that the Deputy Chief Minister was also informed that most of the time, the local police are refusing to register FIRs and instead, they beat us while wrongly accusing us of indulging in cow slaughter. Mahmood Ali has assured to take immediate action and also sought specific details of such cases. He assured that he would take up the matter with the higher officials. The Association has also requested the Deputy CM to impose a ban on export of Bulls and Ox as they are facing severe shortage locally. The prices of bull/ox meat per kg in the retail market have touched Rs 200. This will go up further, if the export continues, it said. Stating that the Quraish community was the most economically and socially backward community in Telangana, the Association sought his help in getting access to education, loans and other benefits being extended by the government to other economically weaker sections. The Association, which represents over 2,000 families in Secunderabad area, had earlier made a representation to Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao who also assured that to resolve the problems being faced by the community.
