Most of the work is naturally at the gas plant. It is important to emphasize that we operate as a gas storage facility injecting during winter and producing during summer to balance Dubai fuel demand. That makes us very stable and thus the role is long term. Gas handling capacity of the plant is 500 mmscfd today and a project to increase it to 800 mmscfd will be complete mid-2015. Job purpose: Manage and supervise maintenance resources and activities for company facilities in a manner that is safe, environmentally acceptable, efficient, cost effective and maximizes equipment availability and reliability. Key Responsibilities: • Contribute to company HSE performance by ensuring applicable HSE standards are known, understood and followed within the workplace. Set relevant HSE goals for each employee to ensure their awareness and performance are maintained at a high level are followed within the workplace by providing ongoing training to all maintenance staff and ensuring the appropriate control mechanisms, procedures and processes are followed in accordance with the Operational Excellence System • Implement OES within area of responsibility by setting of goals and achieving the desired results. Establish OES responsibilities and set relevant goals for each employee in order to achieve the organizational targets. • Lead and direct the Maintenance Department HSE effort. • Ensure maintenance policy and strategy are regularly reviewed, updated to comply with legislation, industry norms and/or best working practices and implemented. • Review, and amend as required, Standard Operating Procedures to ensure continued applicability. • Provide for equipment criticality analysis and thence operational spare parts inventory optimization. • Through the use of valid job descriptions and the Performance Management process, ensure maintenance department employees are fully aware of their responsibilities and performance expectations. • Supervise, coach & counsel direct reports for continued individual and department performance improvement. • Based upon company Operations Goals set maintenance department goals and KPIs; ensure individual Performance Agreements are aligned to achieve such. • Determine annual maintenance budget; administer to ensure that costs remain within budget. The Plant operation is located in the desert approximately 55kms from Dubai city and consists of high pressure production wells, an oil/gas separation and stabilization plant, inlet compressors, booster compressors, high pressure reinjection system and pipelines. Condensate storage/ship loading, LNG regasification facility and the Gas Control Station for gas management and distribution are located at Jebel Ali. Whilst originally constructed as a standalone condensate production unit with gas reinjection in 1984, The Plant has now become a critical part of Dubais gas supply system, serving to balance seasonal fuel gas requirement swings and as a strategic gas storage facility. Gas is injected into the reservoir for storage during seasonal times of surplus and produced for gas supply when required. The Plant has been continually modified in the past decade, first to fully deplete the mature field and more recently to increase injection and production capacity as a strategic storage facility. The operation is stand alone for all utilities and has sophisticated gas turbine driven compression equipment and features exotic metallurgy to overcome inherent corrosion problems. The infrastructure is aging, presenting unique challenges to ensure continuing operation, integrating up to date replacement equipment and managing long term asset integrity. Other quantitative information may be included, as appropriate in the space below: Additional to planned maintenance and repair activities, the maintenance department also performs installation / modification work related to facility changes; short term local contract personnel are often used to assist. Major construction work is performed by contractors managed by the Engineering department although the engineering department provides technical assistance to maintenance as required. Essential to this position is the ability to work with the absolute minimum of direct management as is the ability to provide a high level of motivation to subordinates.
