Derek Michael Parker! If you havent heard of him (Im sure you have if youve been on my timeline), he is the filmographer and director of Pharaoh the Web Series, but also has numerous other short films and web series under his belt, even as a mid-twenties recent alumni of undergrad film school. The Parker Sisters, his short film about two college age sisters who after years of tension, realize that their anger and jealousy towards each other may come from the negative images and ideologies on how Black women are supposed to act, look, and dress in this society IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR IMMEDIATE PUBLIC VIEWING. :D :D :D Check it out on Youtube this evening with some popcorn (and a box of tissues if youre anything like me). This film touched me deeply. So deeply, I wondered how he was able to write the script so well being a male and the film is in the voice of the sisters! He nailed it! Derek, youre an awesome writer as well as a director, producer, and filmographer. The Three Accused, a short film tells the story of three college students from TSU who after leaving a football game,never make it back home. Instead they are arrested and wrongfully accused of murder. This story is so real that I thought it was a true story! Great writing, great filmmaking, and a great discussion piece.
