When Jesus saves us, He covers us with this very robe; if this prospect does not excite us as an engagement ring would a young bride, there may be something amiss. Again, the church prepares herself, “arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints” (Revelation 19:8). The wedding garment is woven of many linen threads that represent the righteous acts we have performed; if that is so, a great number of righteous acts will be necessary to make an entire gown. I sometimes wonder whether some of us will have enough material to weave such a garment. Some of us may be scantily clad; anticipating the wedding day makes us hasten to fashion a wedding gown that will cover us fully.
