Des Moines North Polar Bear Sharpshooter Jessica Ebersole (pictured here) travels to Colorado Springs tomorrow (July 29, 2014) to compete at the American Legion National 3P Air Rifle Championships, which will be hosted at the Olympic Training Center. The National qualifying began in January with over 1,500 shooters from around the country. Only the top 15 shooters punched a ticket to the tournament finals, which consists of four 3X20 matches over a two-day period. The top eight shooters advance to the National Standing finals, where the National Champion is crowned after the grueling three-day tournament. Jessica is the third North High shooter to represent the State of Iowa in the last four years at the national tournament. The team is led by Gunnery Sgt.
