Description JUDGES MEETING 9:30 AM Youth Division sponsored by Scott Anvils Class 1: 2 shoes Kerckheart Std. #1, make one front pattern w/ toe clip and one hind pattern w/ quarter clips. Class 2: 2 shoes, 3/8 x 3/4 x 11 1/2 , make one front pattern shoe plain stamped 6 nails (appropriate) no clip and one hind pattern plain stamped six nails (appropriate) no clips. Division 1 - Novice Class 1: Set of shoes, kerckheart standard #2. Pair of fronts rocker tow checked heels, pair of hinds quarter clipped extended heels. Class 2: Set of shoes, kerckheart standard #1. Pair of fronts rolled toe side clips. Pair of hinds quarter clipped 5/16 stud holes in the heels no threads. Class 3: Welded Rings. 11 1/5 x 3/8 x 3/4 shape into a flat circle, forgeweld, 2- vx-50 nail holes in each ring. Nail holes should match up on both rings Division 2 - Intermediate Class 1: 2 shoes, pony roadster, 12 x 3/8 x 3/4 caulk and wedge, toe clip, 3/4 fullered, 6 nails 4-E slim. Journeyman hind 11 x 3/8 x 3/4 quarter clips, plain stamped, 6 nails, VX-60 Class 2: Pair hunter fronts, 10 1/2 x 3/8 x 1 fullered heel to heel, toe clips, six nails 5-E Class 3: 2 bar shoes, 1 egg bar, 14 x 5/16 x 3/4, fullered, six nails 5 city. 1 straight bar, 14 x 5/16 x 3/4 fullered, 6 nails 5 city. Both shoes fit same foot Division 3 - Open Class 1: 2 shoes, concave hind roadster 13 x 1/2 x 3/4 concave caulk and wedge, bob punch quarter clips, rolled toe, seven nails E-6. Journeyman hind 11 x 3/8 x 3/4 quarter clips, plain stamped, 6 nails VX - 60 Class 2: 2 shoes beveled front 13 x 1/2 x 1. Beveled inner and outer edges, masselotte toe clip, 7 nails E-7 Hunter front, 10 1/2 X 3/8 x 1 fullered heel to heel, toe clip 6 nails 5-E Class 3: Journeyman set. 2 front straight bars, 14 x 5/16 x 3/4 fullered 6 nails 5 city. 2 hinds 11 x 5/16 x 3/4 plain stamped, hammer drawn quarter clips, 6 nails 5 city OPEN TO ALL DIVISIONS Two-Man: Draft front 18 x 1/2 x 1 1/4 fullered toe clip scotch heels 8 nails E-10. Draft hind, 17 x 1/2 x 1 1/4 fullered toe clip scotch heels 7 nails, E-10 Blacksmithing: pre made artistic blacksmithing item with steel as main material. other materials allowed. judged by contestant voting. RULES Youth Division: age 16 and under, coaching allowed, coaches may not touch tools, shoes, anvils Div 1: 5 yrs or less shoeing experience, never won division 1 highpoint Div 2: have never won div 2 highpoint Div 3: open No electricity, each truck must have fire extinguisher, safety glasses required Two Man: each contestant must make one shoe High point champion and reserve awards in each division Silver trays to Two Man and blacksmithing class winners Payback 50% of entry fees paid out. Entry fees $30 per class, Two-Man $30 per contestant Must pre-register by 9/20/13 for free entry into fair.
