The Chairman Railway Board New Delhi 28th April 2014 Sir, This is to inform you that as a frequent rail traveler, I feel that there are certain issues and problems one might encounter while travelling by train which must be brought into your notice. Several problems arose, while I was on a trip from Chandigarh to New Delhi. Firstly, the train was extremely dirty. It felt like that floor has been cleaned a long ago. The creepy toilets further added to the poor hygiene condition of the train. Also, the windows were streaked with handprints. Another deficiency in service was the poor quality of food and beverages provided by the railway. The food was not fresh and as per the standard quality. Yet another concern is that railway employees were rude to the passengers. Even at asking for the time, they were yelling around. Finally, the delays we encountered were caused by poor planning. The train was late by an hour without any reason, due to which many of the Co-passengers also missed their important appointments. Moreover, some conceited people were travelling without tickets and there was nobody to keep a check on their activities. The service quality of railway is deteriorating day by day.
