Design Engineer Union Dredgers Marine Contracting LLC Location: Al Quoz, Dubai Date: 12-07-2014 Job Code: JOB002 Job Type: Employee Job Status: Full Time Categories: Engineering & Construction Job Details Designs, details, modify and finalize drawings as per instructions from management/project team using AutoCAD. Responsibilities: Design drawings using Auto Cad and other software based on client requirements Solving engineering design and analysis problems in support of the Contracts Manager. Projects planning and Scheduling Assist in implementing mechanical engineering practices and related standards. Check/review completed in-house drawings, vendor drawings and drawings done by the design contractor in accordance to the project specifications, standards and quality. Prepare and maintain method statements for all activities Perform inspections and attend tests to ensure compliance with approved drawings, workmanship standards, and contract specifications. Design work using CAD, liaison with engineers and contractors to ensure quality standards and design criteria are met. Writes detailed reports related to mechanical engineering of projects and confers with Managers as requested. Organize technical discussions with subcontractors and vendors in order to specify designs or systems necessary for a contracting project. Coordinate regulatory and classification body reviews and approvals. Carry out calculations to support design calculations Work with Contracts and Estimation Manager to respond to enquiries from project consultants and clients Liaise with sub contract design consultants to finalise any queries and ensure job completion as required. To Prepare the Prequalification documentations for projects Support and assist fabrication staff, diving team and sales team with technical queries and coordinate resolutions as required. Review and approve engineering drawings and calculations in compliance with classification and regulatory rules, and ensure adequate standards of safety are incorporated. Contribute to a positive relationship with the client, subcontractors, vendors and the operating regions of the Company to ensure a high degree of cooperation to achieve the best possible results. Requirements A Bachelors degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering, minimum 3 to 8 years experience as Design Engineer. Experience in Marine contracting industry is an advantage. - Solid understanding of structural engineering concepts related to Marine contracting - Expert in the use of AutoCAD, 3D design software for preparing designs and drawings. - English language competency, fluency in other languages may be beneficial Suitable candidate send yor cv to jobs@uniondredgers
