Desmond Shawn Hopkins, 39 passed away Sunday November 27, 2011. Shawn was born June 24, 1972 He was a self employed carpenter. He is survived by his father of Gibsonville, mother and step-father Al Mitchell. Daughters, Jessica D. Lankford of Efland, Dallas Faith Sutton, Virginia Deneé Sutton both of Mebane, maternal grandmother Mary Compton The funeral was held 2:00 PM Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Chapel by Rev. Bob Stephenson. The family was able to receive friends 6-8 PM Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. and at other times at the residence. Desmond Shawn Hopkins was my father my name is Dallas Faith Sutton. My father had a brain tumor that is what caused him to pass away. He is missed by a lot of people, he was loved by a lot of people and still is loved even thought he is no longer with us. If you know someone with a brain problem please do everything you can to help them, even if you don’t think you will miss them…you will. So don’t ignore it do everything you can to try to save them. Because whether you know it or not, you will miss them. I thought that he wouldn’t die, so I didn’t do anything about it, I didn’t think it was that serious because he had the tumor for almost 6 years, and he was still living. But even if you don’t think it is that serious or if you think that they are not very sick you still need to help them fight for their life, I learned that the hard way.
