Despite a cool start & a strong NNW wind today, the abundant sunshine, the dry air being easy to heat up, and the westerly component to the wind contributing to the warming downsloping effect, temperatures made it up to seasonal averages this afternoon. Tonight the winds will die down, the air will remain very dry, and there will continue to be not a cloud in the skies over South Texas (see animated visible satellite imagery here: goo.gl/Jeiddl ). This is a good recipe for radiational cooling, and tomorrow morning will start out with well-below average temps. Nothing but Sun on Wednesday. Winds will shift around to the south Wednesday night, which may lead to some brief morning overcast both Thursday and Friday, but a huge ridge of high pressure in the upper levels (see animated water vapor imagery here: goo.gl/Jeiddl ) will keep conditions sunny, warm & dry each afternoon, through Friday afternoon. Low/high Wed: 46°/80° - Low/high Thu: 56°/82° - Low/high Fri: 63°/84° #TXwx #SATwx
