Despite cuts, rising costs affect Ridgway school district budget By Katherine Porter Staff Writer RIDGWAY – On Tuesday evening, Ridgway Area School District finance manager Brent Rhoads presented information to the board concerning costs and trends for the school district over the past several years. The 2014-2015 budget is yet to be completed. However, according to Rhoads, district officials will not wait until the state budget is passed as it could be as late as July by the time figures come through. I just wanted to try to show some of the issues we have going on in our budget this year, Rhoads said. Staff salary payments are on the decline, yet fringe benefit payments continue to climb.
