Despite my best intentions to have a quiet evening at home - TopicsExpress

Despite my best intentions to have a quiet evening at home tonight, I ended up in what feels like an episode of I Love Lucy: My apartment complex changed the locks on our laundry facility so theres a new code (which they neglected to tell anyone). The door must have been opened when I got there because I got my laundry started just fine...but then found myself locked out when I returned. After about an hour of desperately trying to get in and claim my clothes, I attracted the attention of several residents, and eventually the security guard who was able to jimmy the door so I could get back in. He held the door for me while I raced home to grab my laundry basket. When I got to my apartment I noticed the load of dishes I had started had caused my sink disposal to back up and start to overflow, so I frantically grabbed any container within reaching distance (all comically small, of course) to bail out the murky contents of my sink before they poured all over my floor. It was a partial success. :-\ Of course I was afraid of being locked out again when I returned to the laundry facility, so I sat in the stuffy & hot un-air conditioned room while my clothes dried. Just as the cycle finished, the sky outside opened up and poured all of its contents out in a great deluge. I ran/hobbled awkwardly back to my apartment with my clothes, trying to shield them with my body so they wouldnt get soaked. When I got back inside, I noticed the rain seemed to have stopped, so I went out to my porch to check it out. I leaned over my porch railing to look up over the creek just as my upstairs neighbor emptied out a full beer directly on my head. (He apologized; it was totally an accident.) To sum up: WAAAAAAAAH!
